Custom reading glasses are precisely eyeglass frames with custom prescription reading lenses. Typically, this option would be more expensive than buying stock reading glasses, but the grade of the glasses will be much better and well suited for your eyesight and your lifestyle. To purchase custom reading glasses, you need to choose an eyeglass frame for installing lenses. You cannot do buy reading glasses at a pharmacy or chain store for installing custom lenses. This is because the frames are not usually ophthalmic quality so they cannot accommodate a custom lenses. However, if you have ophthalmic quality eyeglasses at home, it is easy to bring install new custom lenses in them.

Bifocal reading glasses are just glasses that have clear lenses at the top and reading lenses at the bottom. With bifocal reading glasses, you can look straight through the top part of the lens and still have reading magnification when you look down. Half-eye reading glasses are flat on the top of the frame and are designed to sit down low on your nose so that you peer down through the lens when reading. Afterwards, when you look up, you do not see through a lens so objects in the distance are not blurred. Full-eye reading glasses are good when you spend a long time concentrating on material close-up. When you look up from reading, objects in the distance appear blurry.
